Welcome to the Peoria Park District’s Planning, Design, and Construction Division homepage!
The Pleasure Driveway and Park District of Peoria, Illinois, organized in 1894, was the first park system formed within the State of Illinois. Over the past century, the Peoria Park District has grown to become one of the largest in the state, and maintains its place as one of the top public park systems in the nation based on its ratio of open space to population, managing nearly 9,000 acres of public land within 60 square miles of Peoria County. In addition, the Park District is a four-time winner of the National Recreation and Park Association’s Gold Medal Award, which recognizes outstanding Park Districts throughout the country.
Please visit the Park District’s main website at http://www.peoriaparks.org for more information about parks, facilities, and recreation programming available.
The Planning, Design, and Construction Division of the Peoria Park District has a host of responsibilities which you can read about on some of the pages within this site. Due to the large file sizes of our maps, plans, forms, etc. this site is hosted separately from the main Park District website, but don’t worry, it’s a simple click away!
